Birgunj, Nepal, July 6, 2019:  The Nepal government has put on hold its decision to carry out pesticide testing for vegetables and fruits imported from India until further arrangements, thanks to the failure to resist the mounting pressure from the Indian government.

Though the decision to put on hold its decision to carry out pesticide testing for vegetables and fruits imported from India until further arrangements is claimed for the arrangements of necessary lab equipments, the government was compelled to take the decision from the Indian side to resume the supply without any hindrance.

Following the decision to carry out pesticide testing, the carriers of the vegetables and fruits were halted at the border points since two weeks triggering shortage of vegetable and fruits.

Though, the Indian vegetables and fruits have a huge market share in Nepal, none of the sides have concerned over the use of pesticide and other harmful chemicals. With the decision, there will be no bar to enter pesticide used vegetable and fruits.
