Nepal Police arrest transport entrepreneur committees’ leaders

Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has started crackdown against the syndicate imposers, who have halted the operations of public vehicles on Friday on the name of protesting the government decision to cancel the syndicate system in Nepal. 

Following the directives of the Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Nepal police have arrested the leaders of the transport entrepreneurs committees from various places in the country.

Police arrested Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association (NNTEA) vice Chairma Jeewan Banjade and General Secretary Saroj Sitaula. Likewise, another NNTEA leader Padam Gaha Magar has also been arrested. 
All of the arrestees have been kept in police custody before proceeding for the further legal action. 

Though the syndicate system is illegal and unethical, it had been exercising in the country since long on the name of transport entrepreneurs committees.
