Bollywood actor Salman Khan sentenced up to five years with IRs 10, 000 fines

Kathmandu, Nepal: Renowned Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years in jail and fined IRs 10, 000 by a Jodhpur based court convicting him for the killing of two blackbucks in the two-decade-old poaching case.

He was charged under the Wildlife Protection Act for killing the blackbucks, an endangered species of antelope. He was charged for killing of antelope while shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in 1998. 

With the verdict, Salman Khan has to face up to six years in prison. However, he can seek bail from a session court.
