Kathmandu, Nepal, July 5, 2019: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given a clear indication that the government would host the ‘controversial’ IIFA awards in Nepal amid protest from different sectors.

Expressing his strong dissatisfaction with the decision made by the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations to direct the government not to host the IIFA awards, Prime Minister Oli reiterated his commitment to hosting the IIFA awards at an appropriate time.

‘The government will host the IIFA awards if it is to the advantage of the country,’ Prime Minister Oli said on Friday that the government will be ready to backtrack on its plan only if hosting the IIFA awards is detrimental to the national interest.

Though the Prime Minister’s remark was not clear, he has left a clear indication that the government would host the IIFA awards in Nepal.
