Arunachal Scouts personnel vandalized police station, PWD office in Bomdila, snatched arms-ammu

Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 4 : The 2nd Arunachal Scouts personnel stationed in Bomdila, headquarter of West Kameng district, on Saturday went rogue and vandalized a police station and the PWD office in Bomdila.

The Arunachal Scouts personnel also snatched arms, ammunition from the police station and damaged several vehicles.

According to the reports, over 100 personnel of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts vandalised the police station and a PWD office.

The Arunachal Scouts personnel had also threatened the officer-in-charge of Bomdila police station to take stern action against him.

A top official of Arunachal Police said that, on Friday night, two intoxicated Arunachal Scouts personnel had misbehaved few people in the Buddha Mahotsava was started at Bomdila from Nov 2.

Following the incident, a police team led by the officer-in-charge rushed to the area and brought the Arunachal Scouts personnel to the police station.

Later, the Commanding officer of the Arunachal Scouts came to the police station and took the two personnel away with him.

But, on Saturday, over 100 personnel of th Arunachal Scouts surrounded the police station and vandalised the police station, five vehicles and a PWD office.

West Kameng district Superintendent of Police Raja Banthia said that, an inquiry committee has been initiated to probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, the community based organisations of West Kameng had condemned the rogue behaviour of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts personnel.
