Assam : Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered from a vehicle

Guwahati, November 9 : Assam police had recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from a vehicle in central Assam's Nagaon district on Wednesday night, officials said on Thursday.
The recovered arms are believed to be carried for killing one horned rhinoceros in Kaziranga National Park. 
According to the reports, based on intelligence input, the Nagaon police had tracked a vehicle coming from Guwahati at Haiborgaon area in Nagaon town. 
"When police tracked the Hyundai Getz car registration bearing no AS-01-AG-3342 accompanied by four persons, the men had managed to flee from the area before security personnel arriving," a top police official said. 
Police had recovered one AK-47 with 130 rounds ammunition,  one 303 rifle with 50 live bullets, sharp weapons, brown sugar and many more materials along with combat boots, food from the vehicle.
"These arms, ammunition and other materials are believed to be carried for killing rhino in Kaziranga," the police official said. 
Meanwhile, police has started investigation for further information.
