BJP engages its 34 MLAs, leaders for Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council poll

Guwahati : Eying to the polls of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has engaged its 34 MLAs and leaders as in-charge of the 26 constituencies under council. 
 
During a crucial meeting held at Brahmaputra state guest house in Guwahati on Wednesday in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP's state unit president Ranjit Das and its several legislators, the saffron party has engaged its MLAs and leaders for each council constituency.
 
A top source of Assam BJP said that, the party has given charge to senior leader Harekrishna Bharali for overall management of the council poll. 
 
According to the reports, the saffron party has also engaged its MLA Gurujyoti Das for Duaramla constituency, Ramkrishna Ghosh and Teros Gowala for Amri, Jugen Mohan for Chinthong, Atul Bora and Jayanta Malla Barua for Socheng, Chakra Gogoi for Rongkhang, Bir Bhadra Hagjer and Ranoj Pegu for Bithung Rengthama, Bolin Chetia for Kopoli, Mriganka Barman for Hamren, Subhas Dutta and Dimbeswar Das for Amreng, Mrinal Saikia for Howraghat, Biswarup Bhattacharjee for Langfer, Vijay Kumar Gupta for Phulani, Rupak Sarma for langhin, Bhabesh Kalita for Karkanthi, Tapan Kumar Gogoi for Mahamaya, Piyush Hazarika for Namati, Sushil Dutta for Socheng Dhenta, 
Kushal Duwari for Lumbajong, Mission Ranjan Das and Jitu Talukdar for Dhansiri, Binod Hazarika and Sibu Mishra for Singhason, Ramakanta Deori for Borjan, Bhaskar Sarma for Sarupathar, Bimal Bora and Sanjay Kishan for Bokajan, Dilip Saikia for Deopani, Suren Phukan for Nilip and Rituparna Barua for Duar Bagori for managing the overall polls.
 
The top source further said that, party candidate selection procedures for the council election had also discussed in the meeting.
 
Meanwhile, Assam CM Sonowal and state BJP president Ranjit Das had asked its MLAs and leaders to make a road map for the poll.
 
On the other hand, the party source said that, the saffron party would likely to finalize its candidates next week.
 
'Besides corruption charged present council members BJP will choose clean image figures to field its candidate,' the source said.
 
Recently, few Executive Members of the council led by a senior leader had sent a letter to the Assam CM and BJP's state unit president against the present Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang for his various corruption scams. 
 
The state election commission is all set to hold the council poll in next month and likely to announce the poll dates this week.
