Mass gathering in support of Dr. KC

Kathmandu, Nepal: Protesting the forceful airlifting of senior orthopedic doctor Govinda KC, protests are intensified in Kathmandu and Jumla district on Thursday.   

Mass gatherings organized in Kathmandu and Jumla district protesting the forceful airlifting of Dr. KC. 

Hundreds of people gathered at the Maitighar Mandala to show solidarity towards Dr KC’s demands. He has been staging hunger strike for 20 days seeking reforms in the medical education.

Dr KC had agreed to be airlifted from Jumla after dozens of his supports injured in the clash with the police. Police used force to disperse the mass gathering before airlifting Dr. KC from Jumla.  It is said that about three dozen persons including doctors and nurses injured in the clash with the police.   

Protesting the government decision to airlift Dr. KC from Jumla, hundreds of thousand locals including the medical persons of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences had staged protest demanding immediate fulfillment of his demands.
