Rally organized in Kathmandu expressing solidarity to the demands of Dr. KC

Kathmandu, Nepal: Expressing solidarity with the agitating launched by the senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC, a protest rally was organized at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Saturday. 

The rally was organized with intent to exert pressure to the government to fulfill the demands raised by Dr. KC, who has been staging an indefinite hunger strike at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Julma for the past two weeks. 

People from different walks of life including political and civil society leaders and medical persons present at the protest rally. 

Though the heath condition of Dr KC is deteriorating, the government has turned deaf ear to address his demands. 
Likewise, at least 20 rights’ activists, who were protesting in front of Prime Minister’s Residence, Balwatar, have been arrested on Saturday. Arrested include Krishna Pahari, Gangadhar Adhikari, Krishna Kandel, Tika Paudel and many others.

The right activists had gathers there to urge the government to address the demands of Dr. KC, Ganga Maya Adhikari and to remove the prohibitory orders in many places including Matighar Mandala.
