Federal Parliament endorses controversial National Medical Education Bill amind protest from the main opposition NC

Kathmandu, Nepal: The disputed National Medical Education Bill has been endorsed from the House of Representatives (HoR) amid protest from the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).

As the consensual attempt failed over the Bill, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara proceeded with the deliberations in the parliament and passed the bill notwithstanding the protest of the opposition party NC and the agitation of the senior orthopedic doctor Govinda KC. 

The bill was passed within minutes once the Education Minister Girirajmani Pokhrel proposed the Bill from his table amid the slogans of the NC lawmakers against of the Bill.
 
Speaker Mahara quickly ended the meeting and announce next house session for January 31, 2019 announcing that the Bill was passed from the majority of votes of the member of the parliament.

The government has not only used the trick to endorse the Bill even with the management of high security presence during the meeting.

NC to hit the streets: Deuba

Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that his party will now take the issue to the streets and continue to obstruct house against of the arrogance of the government and its allies.

As the government arbitrarily passed the bill without deliberations with the opposition and going against of its own commitment and agreement with Dr. KC, we have no alternative to hit the street against the arrogance of the government, Deuba said.
