First phase of historic elections commence in 32 districts

Kathmandu, Nepal:  The first phase of election for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies is commenced with enthusiasm today in 4,465 polling stations of 32 mountain and hilly districts of the country. 
Voters have thronged into various polling stations from early in the morning.  The voting processes have started from 7:00 am and continue till 5:00 pm. Security presences have been strengthened in each and every polling center.  
The first phase of elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies are being held in 37 constituencies of 32 mountain and Hill districts. 
Second phase of elections are scheduled for December 7 in remaining districts. 
According to the Election Commission (EC) a total of 702 candidates are in the fray in the first phase elections. 31, 91, 945 voters will exercise their voting rights in today’s historic elections.
