Palpa, Nepal, November 16, 2019: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has claimed that the government has already made diplomatic initiatives to settle a border dispute with neighboring India.

As the government is all committed to safeguarding every inch of Nepali territory, we have already made diplomatic initiatives to settle a border dispute with neighboring India Minister for Foreign Affairs Gyawali said while addressing a program in Tansen on Saturday.

Though Foreign Minister Gyawali claimed that the government has already made diplomatic initiatives to settle a border dispute with India, he did not elaborated about the progress made so far from the so-called diplomatic initiatives.

The government has done nothing rather than issuing a press statement referring to the media reports regarding the border encroachment even though India has officially published a map taking inside the Nepali territory in Kalapani of Kanchanpur district.

During his address Minister Gyawali said that the Sugauli treaty has demarcated the boundary from Mechi River in the east and the Mahakali River in the west is the border point of Nepal.
