Irrigation secretary Yadav dies in Jeep accident at Trisuli River

Kathmandu, Nepal: Secretary at the Ministry of Irrigation, Ramananda Prasad Yadav, died after an ill-fated jeep with registration number Ba 1 Jha 3140, in which he was travelling in plunged into Trishuli River near Salanghat of Dhading along the Prithvi Highway on Saturday.

As the three people including Yadav had gone missing in the river, the rescue team has on Saturday found his body inside the jeep that was plunged at the river at around 3 am on Saturday. 

In the accident his 22-year-old son Santosh Yadav and an adolescent unidentified girl, who was also traveling in the ill-fated jeep, have gone missing. The rescue team has continued their search operations in the River.  

Among the four persons, driver Niranjan Yadav was rescued alive.  He was rescued by locals while he was swimming to the river bank to save his life. He has been receiving treatment in Kathmandu in critical condition.  

Preliminary investigation shows that secretary Yadav himself was driving the vehicle as his body was found in the driver’s seat. However, Police have still been saying that the investigation of the accident is underway. 

The accident has happened in the situation of pleasure in the family. According to a reliable source close to the Yadav family, Secretary Yadav was returning to Kathmandu from Kapilvastu after fixing the marriage of his daughter Dr Ranjana there.
