Kathmandu, Nepal, July 11, 2019: Minister for Agriculture Chakrapani Khanal has said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) should take responsibilities about the letter written by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to the Nepal government not to conduct pesticide test on fruits and vegetables imported from India.

As MoFA had received the letter first and informed to the Agriculture ministry stating that the Indian Embassy has urged the Nepal government not to conduct pesticide test on vegetables and fruits imported from India, the MoFa is responsible over the issue, Khanal said while speaking at an interaction program in the capital on Thursday.

Agriculture minister mas made the statement at a time when Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his dissatisfaction even accusing the ministers for keeping the letter hidden from him.

During the program, minister Khanal also claimed that the government would give continuity to the pesticide test on vegetables and fruits imported from India.
