Bhaktapur, Nepal, April 4, 2019: Any forms of strikes or obstructions in the essential service sectors are restricted in Nepal.
A cabinet meeting held on March 28 made the decision to ban strike and obstructions in the essential service sectors, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota, who is also the government’s spokesperson, said.
Speaking at a regular press meet on Thursday, he also informed that details about the government decision to ban strike and obstructions in the essential service sectors will be published in the Gazette soon.
Ambulance, medicine, transportations, communications, waste management and the supply of daily essential goods are defined as essential service sectors.
