TRISHULI, July 23: Nepali Congress, Nuwakot has formed a committee to probe damages done to the party in the recently concluded two rounds of local level elections.

The NC's act follows its dismal performance in the polls and the urge to take action against saboteurs.

A meeting of NC Nuwakot held under the chairmanship of party district President Jagadishwor Nar Singh KC on Saturday in Bidur, the district headquarters formed the three-member committee led by party district secretary Surendra Raj Adhikari.

Other committee members are Shiva Dahal and Mahendra Thing. The committee is required to submit the report within one month.

The committee is tasked with investigating the act of noncooperation and involvement in defeating party and the fielding of rival candidacy in the polls and taking action against the saboteurs.

The committee will prepare a list of those saboteurs and recommend for action, said KC.

Those losing in the polls have filed more than two dozen complaints related to sabotage against NC in the elections.

Likewise, a meeting of NC constituent 3 regional working committee has recommended to the district committee to take action and strip those who run for the elections as independent candidate--Ram Bahadur Tamang of Meghang Deurali, Lok Bahadur Ghale of Kispang Bhalche and Krishna Bahadur Khadka of Bidur Municipality--of party general membership for five years.
