Police arrest dozens of doctors for staging protest in support of Dr. KC

Kathmandu, Nepal: Police arrested dozens of doctors while they were staging silent protests in support of Dr. Govinda KC from different hospitals including the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Friday.
The Nepal Medical Association (NMA), the professional organization of doctors, announced, had announced the protest program in support of Dr. KC, who is in hunger strike demanding reform in the medical sector in Nepal.
The NMA has announced a shutdown of all health services except emergency in government, public and private health facilities across the country from Friday despite the government’s threat not to protest in favor of Dr. KC.
