Prime Minister Dahal off to India to take part in the BRICS-BIMSTEC summit

Kathmandu, Nepal: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal left for India to participate in the BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit on Saturday.
 
Dahal left India on Saturday morning leading 18-member Nepali delegation to the Outreach Summit. Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to address the Retreat and the Outreach Summit scheduled on October 16.
 
It is expected that the Summit would provide an important occasion to explore areas of partnership between the two dynamic groups of countries. 
 
BRICS is the common forum of five emerging global economies- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. And BIMSTEC is the short form of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi- Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.
 
The meeting is taken importantly as Prime Minister Dahal is going to hold meetings with different leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, South African President Jacob Zuma and Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.
 
In the team Foreign Minister Prakash Saran Mahat, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Tanka Mani Sharma and other senior government officials including Prime Minister Dahal’s spouse Sita Dahal are included.
