Kathmandu, Nepal, July 8, 2019: Pressures have been mounted against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal for his superstitious remark.

The leaders from his own party- Nepal Communist Party (NCP)- have also demanded his resignation for his controversial tweet posted on Sunday morning. Rimal had tweeted targeting against the dissidents who have been increasingly critical of the government acts though it was not specified.

The tweet simply translated in English says ‘It is believed that Chhaundas do not shuffle by themselves but released by somebody. They (Chhaundas) have given us panic. Are the Chhaundas were shuffling themselves or were they released by somebody?’

Though the superstitious remark of Prime Minister Oli's Chief Advisor Rimal was not specifically targeted, it is believed that it would have targeted against the dissident factions of the party particularly the former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and another senior leader Bhim Bahadur Rawal because they have been making remarks against of the poor performance of the government.

The NCP leader duo had made the public comments criticizing the government for backtracking from the decision to conduct pesticide tests to the imported vegetables and fruits from India.

Not only the leaders from the NCP but also the common social media users have criticized the government for not only using the loathsome word but also for failing to perform well in different fronts.

Some critics, particularly the legal experts, have also raised even the legal issue for using the superstitious remark referring to the existing laws that anyone guilty of making witchcraft allegation could face up to five years in prison.
