Prime Minister Oli Criticized Main Opposition Nepali Congress, Intelligentsia and Media

Kathmandu, Nepal, June 18, 2019: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he is surprised by the obstruction made by the Nepali Congress at the meeting of the lower house of the federal parliament on Tuesday.  

Prime Minister Oli also termed the demonstration of the Nepali Congress as uncivilized activities shown in the parliament by the Democratic Party. 

As he had failed to address the parliament due to the demonstration of the Nepali congress, he immediately organized a press conference to make public his statements. 

The main opposition Nepali Congress has established an undemocratic practice in the parliament by demanding its chief Sher Bahadur Deuba should be allowed to speak ahead of him, Prime Minister Oli said alleging the Nepali Congress.  

Nepali Congress lawmakers had demanded that its president Deuba should be allowed to speak ahead of Prime Minister seeking answers of the questions raised in the parliament. 

During his address, he also criticized the intelligentsia and media as well.  

Raising questions on the modus operandi of a section of Nepali intelligentsia, Prime Minister Oli criticized the intelligentsia. ‘I feel embarrassed listening to the things said by so-called intellectuals,’ Oli said.

He also termed the Nepali intellectuals as uncivil, ill-disciplined and lack of cultural and moral values.

Likewise, he also criticized the media even raising question on of the modus operandi of the media and media persons. 

What the media is teaching our future generations as media persons are too direct and disrespectful even in their approach, Prime Minister Oli said. Likewise, he also criticized the social media terming as ruthless.
