Prime Minister Oli secures two third majority in the parliament

Kathmandu, Nepal: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has secured two third majorities in the parliament. 

Out of 268 lawmakers present in the session, 208 have voted in favor of Oli while 60 lawmakers voted against of him.

121 from his own party CPN-UML, 52 from CPN Maoist Center, 16 each from Rastriya Janta Party Nepal (RJPN) and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN), one each from Rastriya Janamorcha, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Workers Peasants Party and one independent lawmaker Chhaka Bahadur Lama had voted in favor of Oli. 

However, 60 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress voted against the confidence motion. In the today’s meeting lawmaker from the Naya Shakti party Nepal Baburam Bhattrai and Resham Chaudhary from the RJPN were not present.
