  Kathmandu, Nepal      February 06 2018

Kathmandu, Nepal: A contempt of court case attempted to file against Chie Justice (CJ) Gopal Prasad Parajuli has been rejected by the Supreme Court (SC).

Mahendra Upadhyaya, registrar at the SC, refused to register the writ petition attempted to file by Manoj Adhikari refused to register the writ petition citing lack of logical ground.

Adhikari had moved to the SC with the attempt to file a case against CJ Parajuli alleging that he has committed a contempt of court by intimidating advocate Dr. Surendra Bhandari.

The senior advocate Bhandari had assisted the fating champion Dr. Govinda KC in the contempt of court case.

The existing provision has a provision that any writ petition can be quashed if it does not have logical ground for registration. But the SC decision not to register the petition is taken differently in the legal fraternity.
