Supreme Court of Nepal orders Police administration to release corruption accused IRD DG Sharma

Kathmandu, Nepal: The Supreme Court (SC), the Apex Court of the country, has on Friday ordered the police administration to release corruption accused Chudamani Sharma, suspended Director General (DG) of Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
The SC has made the order responding a writ filed by Sharma’s wife Kalpana Upreti Sharma. A bench of justices comprising Deepak Raj Joshi, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sharada Prasad Ghimire, Deepak Kumar Karki and Anil Kumar Sinha ordered to release Sharma in a general date. 
Police had taken Sharma in Police custody rightly after the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) begun investigation for his alleged involvement in corruption. Latter, his detention was continued after he failed to post the bail amount as demanded by the CIAA.
The CIAA had filed a corruption case against Sharma at the Special Court on the charge of his involvement in misusing over Rs 10 billion while settling taxes related to business firms.
