Kathmandu, Nepal: The Supreme Court (SC), the Apex Court, of the country, has on Tuesday quashed the writ petition filed by DIG Navaraj Silwal against IGP appointment and approved Prakash Aryal’s promotion to the Inspector General of Nepal Police.
 
A full bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli and Justices Om Prakash Mishra, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sharda Prasad Ghimire, Mira Khadka, Prakashman Singh Raut and Purospottam Bhandari made the decision to quash the decision.
 
The SC decision is come it line of its earlier decision. The SC had already directed the government to promote DIG Prakash Aryal as the Inspector General of Nepal Police on the basis of the performance.
 
Challenging to the government’s decision, Silwal had filed a writ petition claiming that he should be promoted on the basis of performance.
