At least Seventeen Killed, Seven Missing Due To Torrential Rainfall across the country

Kathmandu, Nepal, July 12, 2019: At least seventeen people feared killed and seven missing across the country due to torrential rainfall come since Thursday night. Four people including three persons of a family lost their lives in Kathmandu valley alone.

Three persons of a family killed in Kageshowr municipality of Kathmandu district after a wall of the house, where the family were living, collapsed and crushed to them on Friday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Sharmila Yadav, 35, Nitu Yadav, 23 and Atul yadav, 10 of Bara district. They were killed on the spot. 

Likewise, one person has been disappearing since Friday morning from Kalanki of Kathmandu. It is believe that the disappeared person would have swept away by the flood come in the area. 

According to the reports come from across the country till late evening on Friday, almost all the districts of the country, particularly in the Terai region have affected due to the rainfall. 


Two persons named Ram Prasad Rai and Temke BK have been killed in Bhojpur district. Likewise, two persons killed in Kavre district. The deceased have been identified as Goma Dangal, 50 and Sohani Dangal, 7 at Nala of the district. Similarly, two persons have lost their lives in Khotang district when a house collapsed due to the rainfall. The deceased were Rekha rai and her four year old son. 

Likewise, one person each in Lalitpur, Parsa, Ramechhap, Mahottari, Sindhuli, Dhading and Makawanpur have died due to the rainfall.
