UML-Maoist face tough task to settle the issue of party unification before government formation

Kathmandu Nepal: The Unification deals between the CPN UML and the CPN Maoist Center seems to have jeopardized after the CPN Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal clinched on the stand if ending the issues related to unification of the two parties before forming the new government.

As the demand of the CPN Maoist Center Chairman Dahal was meant to secure the position of Chairman of to be united party, CPN UML Chairman KP Oli has faced tough task to settle the issue before formation of the new government under his leadership. 

The one-on-one talk held between Oli and Dahal brought no results after the Dahal presented the issues related to unification of the two parties before forming the new government as of a bottom line of his party. 

It is said that CPN UML Chairman Oli is not in position to handover the leadership of to be merged party the CPN Maoist Chairman Dahal in return of securing the post of Prime Minister. The UML has vertically divided whether to accept Dahal as the Chairman of the united party or not. 

The insider at the UML have said that senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and General Secretary Ishowr Pokhrel have been opposing the idea to handover the leadership of to be united party to the CPN Maoist Chairman Dahal. 

However, another senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and Bam Dev Gautam have been insisting to settle the issue immediately even agreeing to accept Dahal as the chairman of the united party.

Though the government formation process is paved with the election of the National Assembly, the two major communist parties have faced tough to settle the issues related to unification of the two parties before forming the new government.
