Kathmandu, Nepal, May 5, 2021: Breaking the past records, Nepal has on Wednesday reported 8,659 new infection cases and 58 deaths from across the country in the past 24 hours.
With the addition, infection tally of the country has advanced to 359,610 while death toll has reached to 3,475.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the total 21,372 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 8,605 cases were confirmed through PCR tests while 54 cases were confirmed through Antigen tests.
Likewise, 1,993 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 289,783.
There are currently 66,352 active cases across the country. Of them, only 381 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
