Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
In a meeting held this evening, the Council of Ministers decided to remove Kulman Ghising from his position and appoint Shakya as his replacement.
Despite warnings from the main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre), of potential protests if Ghising was removed, the cabinet proceeded with the decision.
