Kathmandu, Nepal, June 3, 2020: Responding to the widespread criticism, the government has revised the deadline for individuals and businesses to clear taxes and file returns.
As of the revised schedule, the taxpayers will have to clear their dues by June 21.
Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the government has stated that failure to meet the extended deadline for filing tax returns and clearing tax dues of previous months would result in charges.
The government backtracked from its earlier decision on tax clearance date after not only the business communities but also the political parties and people in general criticized the government.
Earlier the government had ordered businesses and individuals to clear their tax dues by June 7.
