A four member panel, formed by the Sebon to study the issue related to allowing the NRN to invest in the country’s secondary share market under the leadership of Sujan Kumar Kafle, has recently submitted a report clearing the technical and legal hurdles.
We will move forward to amend the regulation in line with the recommendation forwarded by the study panel to open NRNs for investment in the secondary share market, Sebon Chairman Ramesh Hamal said.
It is expected that to be formulated law could help to increase capital injection in the stock exchange market.
Allowing the NRN to invest in the country’s secondary share market is long being touted issue in Nepal.
The NRNs had long been demanding the authorities to permit the Nepalese residing abroad to invest in the country’s secondary share market.
