NEPSE Cross the 2200 Levels in Seven Months With 46.76 Points Gain

Kathmandu, Nepal, January, 9, 2022: Continuing the increasing trend, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 46.76 points, which is equal to 2.16 percent, to close at 2,211.38 points in the second trading day of the week on Monday. 

With the increase, the NEPSE index concluded at its highest point in seven months. Last time on May 27, 2022, the NEPSE was at 2,223.78 points. In the first trading day of the week on Sunday, the NEPSE index had gained 20.55 points.

The NEPSE index that opened at 2,171.46 points made an intraday low of 2,161.03 points before ultimately closing at an intraday high of 2,211.38 points.

A total of 14,676,206 shares amounting to Rs. 5.314 Arba in turnover amount were traded on Monday, which is a bit lower than the Sunday's turnover of Rs. 5.459 Arba.
Ridi Power Company Limited (RIDI) had the highest turnover of Rs. 20.68 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 600 per share while the shares of NGPL traded the most on Monday.

Likewise, Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMFBS) lost the highest by 3.57 percent.

Only one Hotel and Tourism sector indices closed red with 0.70 percent loss while other remaining 12 sector indices closed green. Hydropower sector indices gained the highest by 4.94 percent.

Similarly, Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower to Issue IPO Shares to Locals of Taplejung District and Nepalese Employed Abroad from January 18.
