Kathmandu, Nepal, October 23, 2020: The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has reached to 153,008 after 4,499 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases in the past 24 hours, Kathmandu Valley alone witnessed 2,720 new cases. Of them, 1628 were males while 1,092 females.
With the new addition, the total number of COVID-19 infection cases in the Kathmandu Valley alone reached to 63,853. Likewise, Kathmandu valley alone reported 293 deaths due to COVID-19 infection.
Dr.Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the MoHP, said during a virtual press briefing on Friday that 2,668people, who had earlier tested positive for the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.
With the addition, total recovery cases have reached to 105,488. There are a total of 46,691 active cases of the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the death tally has climbed to 829 after 17 more fatalities have been reported in the past 24 hours.
