DAO Kathmandu Allows Police To Remand Singer Raut In Police Custody For Four Days
  Kathmandu, Nepal      January 27 2020

Kathmandu, Nepal, January 27, 2020: Nepali pop song singer Astha Raut has been remanded in police custody for four days beginning from Monday.  District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu allowed the Nepal police to investigate against singer Raut by taking her in custody for four days.

As DAO Kathmandu had issued an arrest warrant against Raut for her 'indecent behavior' to the on-duty police constable Ramita Shrestha at the Tribhuvan International Airport on last Wednesday, she had surrendered to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu on Monday morning.

Two days after the incident, police constable Shrestha had registered the complaint at the TIA security office claiming that Raut misbehaved her using abusive words during a security check up.

Following the incident, Raut had posted a live video though her Facebook account not only by criticizing the police for misbehaving her but also raising question markers over the performance of the police.

The video posted in the facebook was removed after she received harsh criticism from different sectors. She had also apologized for the use of 'abusive language' through her facebook account.
