Conronavirus infection cases break record high

Kathmandu, Nepal, September 16, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection cases break the records high across the country and Kathmandu valley as well.  

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has reported 1,539 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the national tally to 58,327.  Of them, 737 were from Kathmandu valley alone. 

According to the Ministry, of the newly recorded infection cases in Kathmandu valley, 652 were recorded in Kathmandu, 60 in Lalitpur and 25 in Bhaktapur. 

Kathmandu valley has recorded more than 500 cases of coronavirus in the past three days. 

The new cases were recorded while conducting 10,494 tests through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method throughout the country in the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry 872,274 tests have been conducted till the date. 

Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 397 after 8 cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
