Kathmandu, Nepal, May 8, 2021: coronavirus infection tally of the Nepal has reached to 394,667 after 8,850 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Death tally related to the coronavirus infection has reached to 3720 after 78 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 78 deaths reported in the past 24 hours including 26 deaths that were unreported in the past.
The Kathmandu district alone has recorded 3,161 infections cases in the past 24 hours. According to the (MoHP), 533 new infections were reported in Lalitpur while 504 new cases were reported in Bhaktapur in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, the MoHP has also stated that 19,387 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Of the total tests, 18,787 were PCR tests while 600 were antigen tests.
Similarly, 4022 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovered in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 302,787.
There are currently 88,160 active cases across the country. Of them, only 419 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
