Kathmandu, Nepal, March 8, 2021: Nepal has recorded 89 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection from across the country in the past 24 hours on Monday. With the new addition, the coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 274,810.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases, 40 are females while 49 are males. Among the newly infected cases, 57 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley alone. Kathmandu valley has been receiving higher number of coronavirus infection cases since the virus detected in Nepal.
Likewise, 42 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 270,927 that equals to 98.6 percent.
Meanwhile, one fatality related to the coronavirus reported on Monday. With the addition, death-toll due to the infection of coronavirus advanced to 3,011.
There are currently 872 active cases across the country. Of them, only 55 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
