Coronavirus infection tally advanced to 297,087 after 2,486 new cases reported in the past 24 hours

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 24, 2021: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 297,087 after 2,486 new cases reported from across the country in the past 24 hours on Saturday. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases, 1,006 are females while 1,480 are males.

Of the newly infected cases, Kathmandu valley alone reported 872 cases in the past 24 hours.  Kathmandu district alone reported 644 cases Lalitpur 141 and Bhaktapur, the MoHP has stated. 

Following the footstep of Kathmandu, Banke district has reported 352 new cases while Rupandehi reported 268 new cases to become second and third largely infected districts respectively in the past 24 hours.

Likewise, coronavirus related death has advanced to 3,136 after 14 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours. 

Likewise, 368 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 277,123.

 There are currently 16,828 active cases across the country. Of them, 71 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
