Kathmandu, Nepal, January 4, 2021: Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 262,262 after 403 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
Of the newly reported cases, 159 are females while 244 are males. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases, 185 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley alone.
The capital city of the country has been receiving highest number of active cases since few months.
Likewise, 594 people, who were infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 255,088.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus, has advanced to 1,885 after seven more fatalities related to the virus reported in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 5,289 active coronavirus cases in the country. Of them, only 342 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
According to the MoHP, 4,401 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With the addition, total 1,952,903 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
