Coronavirus infection tally advances to 282,054 with 490 new infection cases in the past 24 hours

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 15, 2021: Nepal has reported 490 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country in the past 24 hours on Thursday. With the addition, nationwide coronavirus infection tally has advanced to 282,054.

Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu valley alone reported 196 cases. Kathmandu valley has been receiving highest number of coronavirus infection since the virus detected in Nepal. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (mohp), of the total newly infected cases, 145 were in Kathmandu district, 43 in Lalitpur district and eight in Bhaktapur district.

Similarly, Banke district has become second to report highest number of infection cases after Kathmandu. Banke district alone reported 89 new infections cases in the past 24 hours.

Likewise, 157 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 274,604.

Meanwhile, five more fatalities related to the coronavirus infection have reported in the past 24 hours. With the addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus advanced to 3,066, which is equal to 97.4 percent. 

There are currently 4,384 active cases across the country. Of them, 68 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
