Coronavirus infection tally advances to 283,658 with 768 new cases in the past 24 hours

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 17, 2021: coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 283,658 after 768 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. 

Of the total infected cases reported on Saturday, 395 were reported from Kathmandu valley alone. Kathmandu valley has been witnessing highest number of cornavirus infection. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 312 cases were reported in Kathmandu district while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts reported 74 and nine respectively.
Likewise, 226 people, who were infected earlier with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 275,038. 

Similarly, five more fatalities related to the coronavirus infection have been reported in the past 24 hours. With the addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 3,075. 

There are currently 5545 active cases of coronavirus infection across the country. Of them, only 74 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
