KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally has reached to 216,976 after 1,945 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Among the newly infected cases, 1,205 were males while 740 were females.
Of the newly infected cases, 1,107 new cases surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone. Of them, 862 are from Kathmandu district while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 174 and 71 cases respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) 1,945 new cases were recorded while conducting 10,340 Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests in the past 24 hours. The government has so far carried out 1,643,900 PCR tests.
Similarly, 5,364 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after they tested negative for the infection in the last 24 hours.
With the addition, Nepal’s recovery tally has reached to 191,002. This is the single day record high to recover the virus.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus advanced to 1,298 after 22 deaths related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
With the new updates, there are currently 24,665 active cases in the country. Among them, 753 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
