Covid-19 infection tally reached to 276,056; recovery and death toll advanced to 272,020 and 3,019 respectively

Kathmandu, Nepal, March 22, 2021: coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 276,056 after 150 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours on Monday. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 150 new cases were reported while conducting 4,472 real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests in different labs across the country. 

Of the newly recorded cases, 84 were recorded from the Kathmandu Valley alone. This indicates that coronavirus infection cases have been mounting not only in the Kathmandu valley but also across the country in recent days. 

Considering to the spiking number of cases, the government has already cautioned the people to adopt safety measures including wear of face masks, not to organize the mass gatherings including the meetings and seminars.   

Likewise, 99 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.  With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 272,020, which is equal to 98.5 percent.

Likewise, three fatalities related to the coronavirus infection have been reported in the past 24 hours. With the addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 3,019.

There are currently 1017 active cases of coronavirus across the country. Of them, only 51 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
