Nationwide tally of coronavirus infection reaches to 273,556

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 22, 2021: Coronavirus infection tally of the country advances to 273,556 after 125 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Of the total newly infected cases, 44 are females while 81 males.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly recorded coronavirus cases, Kathmandu valley alone registered 52 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu valley, the capital city of Nepal, has been witnessing higher number of coronavirus infection cases since the virus detected in the country.    

Likewise, 90 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 269,876 that equals to 98.7 percent.

Nepal witnessed zero fatality related to the coronavirus infection on Monday. 2,061 persons have already lost their lives due to the infection of coronavirus. 

There are currently 2,061 active cases of coronavirus across the country. Of them, only 66 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.

Meanwhile, the MoHP has states that it had conducted 3,681 PCR tests in the last 24 hours. With the addition, a total of 2,143,315 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date in Nepal.
