Kathmandu, Nepal, May 31: Nepal has recorded 4,762 new cases of COVID-19 from across the country in the past 24 hours on Monday. With the addition, nationwide infection tally of the country has advanced to 561,302.
Likewise, nationwide death tally has advanced to 7,386 after 114 new fatalities related to the virus recorded from across the country.
Similarly, 6,491 people, who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19, have been discharged after getting recovered in the past 24 hours. With the addition, nationwide recovery tally of the country has advanced to 447,446.
The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has stated that 4,762 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded while conducting 15,055 PCR tests and 2,425 antigen tests in different labs across the country.
There are currently 106,470 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, only 689 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
Of the newly recorded cases, Kathmandu district alone recorded the highest of 890 new cases of COVID-19 among 77 districts while Morang and Lalitpur districts recorded second high 252 new cases each on Monday.
Globally, over 171 million people have been infected by the COVID-19 while 3.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 153 million people have recovered while more than 14 million cases are still active.
