Kathmandu, Nepal, September 06, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 46,257 after 980 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), said during a regular virtual press briefing on Sunday that of the newly recorded 980 new cases, 290 were females while 690 were males.
According to spokesperson Gautam, of the newly recorded 980 cases, 354 have been reported from Kathmandu Valley alone.
Likewise, 1,814 people tested earlier positive of virus have returned home after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total recovery cases have reached to 28,941.
There are only 17,027 active cases of infection in the country while 4703 people are under quarantine, spokesperson Gautam said during the press briefing.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 death toll reached to 289 in Nepal after nine fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
