Kathmandu, Nepal, August 18, 2020: Nepal has recorded highest single day spike with 1,016 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours. With the new records, Nepal’s coronavirus tally has reached to 28,257.
Likewise, Kathmandu Valley also recorded 205 new cases of COVID-19, which is single day spike in the past 24 hours. According to the ministry, 1,016 new cases were recorded while conducting 13,461 swab samples’ tests through PCR method in the past 24 hours.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Jageshwar Gautam said during a regular a virtual press briefing on Tuesday that only 85 COVID-19 patients have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 114 after seven persons died in the past 24 hours.
