Kathmandu, Nepal, September 13, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally has reached to 54,159 after 1,039 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Of the total infection cases, 597 were from Kathmandu valley alone.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Heath and Population (MoHP) Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said amid a virtual press briefing on Sunday that 1,039 new cases were recorded while conducting 9,165 real time PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Nepal has tested a total of 840,527 samples through the PCR method.
Likewise, 1,173 persons infected earlier with the coronavirus have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total numbers of recovery cases have reached to 38,697. There are only 15,117 active cases across the country.
During the press briefing, spokesperson Gautam also informed that death toll due to the infection of coronavirus have jumped to 345 after nine fatalities including six in Kathmandu valley recorded in the past 24 hours.
