Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally reaches to 67, 804 after 1,172 new cases recorded in past 24 hours

Kathmandu, Nepal, September 23, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally reached to 67, 804 after 1,172 new cases recorded in past 24 hours.  

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, of the 1,172 newly recorded cases, 637 were from Kathmandu valley alone. 

492 individuals diagnosed in Kathmandu, 95 in Bhaktapur and 50 in Lalitpur districts, Dr, Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry said during the regular press briefing on Wednesday.

According to him, 1,893 persons, who earlier tested positive for the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new updates, total recovery cases reached to 49,954 in Nepal.

There are currently 17,414 active cases of coronavirus across the country, Gautam said, during the press briefing. 
 
Likewise, death toll due to the coronavirus infection reached to 436 after 7 more fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.
