Nepal’s coronavirus tally reached to 55,329

Kathmandu, Nepal, September 14, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection tally reached to 55,329 after 1,170 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoPH), of the 1,170 newly recorded cases, 512 were from Kathmandu valley alone. Of the total newly recorded coronavirus infection cases in Kathmandu valley, 440 were from Kathmandu while 43 in Bhaktapur and 29 in Lalitpur district.

Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the MoHP said during a virtual press briefing on Monday that 1,170 new cases were detected through 10,878 PCR tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours. 

Likewise, spokesperson Gautam also informed during the press briefing that 879 persons infected earlier with the coronavirus have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With this new addition, the number of people to be discharged after recovery has reached to 39,576.

There are currently 15,393 active cases of coronavirus in the country.

Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 360 after 15 more fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours. Of the newly recoded death cases, eight were from Kathmandu valley alone. This is the single day record high in terms of death in the country and the Kathmandu valley as well.
