Nepal’s coronavirus update: 274 people tested positive, 277 recovered and death toll reaches to 52

Kathmandu, Nepal, July 30, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus infection cases tally has reached to 19,547 after 274 new cases including 45 in Kathmandu valley identified in the past 24 hours. 

Dr. Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said during a regular press conference on Thursday that 274 people identified of coronavirus positive while conducting 6304 swab specimen test through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in the 24 hours. 

According to Dr. Gautam, there are currently 5,227 active cases of coronavirus and 13,201 people are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country. 

227 returned home after recovery 

Similarly, during the press conference, Dr. Gautam also said that 227 people, who were earlier tested positive of coronavirus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new recovery cases, Nepal’s recovery percent stands as 72.97.

Death toll reaches to 52 

Likewise, Nepal’s death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 52 after three more deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.

According spokesperson Gautam, a 45 years old man from Sunbarsi Municipality ward number 8 of Morang district succumbed to coronavirus on July 29. 

According to the ministry, the man had admitted to a Hospital at Biratnagar after he complained of fever and breathing difficulties. 

Similarly, another 70 years old man from Birgunj Metropolitan City ward number 7 died of coronavirus July 29. The person, who was suffering earlier from the heart related disease, succumbed to coronavirus while receiving treatment Narayani Hospital. 

Likewise, a 68 years old man from Birgunj Metropolitan City ward number 5 also succumbed to coronavirus on July 29. The man, who was suffering from the kidney related ailments, was tested positive for virus.
